How It Works

The USD value is computed by a simple multiplication: USD = btcAmount ร— btcPrice. For example, 0.1 BTC at a price of $65,000 equals exactly $6,500. The satoshi equivalent is calculated by multiplying the BTC amount by 100,000,000 (one hundred million), since one Bitcoin is defined as exactly 100,000,000 satoshis. The result is rounded to the nearest whole satoshi using Math.round(), because fractional satoshis are not representable on the Bitcoin base layer. This tool does not fetch live prices โ€” you supply the price yourself, which gives you full control to use any reference price: the current spot price, yesterday's closing price, or a specific historical price for tax-lot calculations. For the most current Bitcoin price, check a real-time source such as CoinGecko, Coinbase, or Binance before entering the value.

Examples

Tenth of a Bitcoin
A common small holding of 0.1 BTC at a price of $65,000.
Result: $6,500 USD โ€” equivalent to 10,000,000 satoshis.
Whole Bitcoin
One full Bitcoin at the $100,000 psychological milestone price.
Result: $100,000 USD โ€” equivalent to 100,000,000 satoshis.
Small Satoshi Stack
0.005 BTC (500,000 satoshis) at $65,000 โ€” a modest purchase.
Result: $325 USD โ€” equivalent to 500,000 satoshis.
